Question of the Month

Do you have any lovebirds for sale? I am looking for 2, and am also open to suggestion for other listings.

Good morning!

I am sorry, but I don’t breed  lovebirds anymore! I have been breeding Parrotlets for the last 9 years now. They are very similar to Lovebirds but in some ways they have some advantages. They are quieter than lovebird.  Also, they don’t go through the mood swings that Lovebirds can go through especially if females. They come in a variety of colors just like lovebirds do. They are also much smarter and can learn how to talk.

I don’t suggest you to get 2 Lovebirds as well as I don’t suggest you to buy two Parrotlets. They will bond to each other and will not bond to you anymore.  If you want a cuddly, interactive bird, you should have  only one.  However, if you don’t have a lot of time to spend with the bird, then it is O.K. to let him have a friend bird to spend time with :)

I would suggest for you to do a little more research about both breeds. There is a nice site called www.talkparrotlet.com for Parrotlets and ww.parrotparrot.com for Lovebirds.

Let me know what you find out and I will be glad to answer any more questions you might have.

Thank you for contacting Friendly Bird Aviary.

Best regards,

Rosela
